Television Studio A

Studio AThis 32' x 50' television production studio features a modern lighting system installed in 1998 with dimmers controlled by a two-scene, pre-set console, including a remote focus unit, and a full lighting complement. The lighting grid is approximately 15.5 feet above floor level. The studio walls are lined with 120 feet of black curtains and 120 feet of hanging-sync off-white curtains. Studio A production equipment includes four NEC SP30 cameras and one Genie lift. WSIU/WUSI-TV local studio productions are split between Studios A and B as needs dictate, averaging an estimated 600 hours of actual broadcast production annually. Several WSIU/WUSI-TV productions have won regional and national awards. In addition to broadcast production, the WSIU/WUSI studios together average 18 hours of undergraduate and graduate classroom instruction each week.

Television Studio B

Our largest studio is 45' x 50'. It features a lighting system similar to that in Studio A, installed in 1999, and shares the NEC SP30 cameras and Genie lift with Studio A. The studio walls are lined with 80 feet of black curtains and 80 feet of hanging-sync off-white curtains. In addition to varied broadcast productions and classroom instruction, Studio B is the home of the award-winning "River Region Evening Edition" nightly newscast.

Photography Studio

The Photography Studio is a full-featured professional studio environment with four shooting bays, a white sweep, and a white cyc bay. The studio is equipped with strobe and tungsten lighting equipment and accessories. It is available for students in the college working on class or research projects and hosts several classes during the year.

Cinema Sound Stage

The Cinema Sound Stage is a film/sound recording facility where student productions are staged. It is equipped with an overhead lighting grid, sound treatment on the walls, a variety of lighting equipment, a dolly with track and many accessories.
